We're excited to welcome Ben Wong as an instructor for our upcoming Short Film Lab. A Toronto-based cinematographer, photographer, and colourist, Ben graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with the award for Best Cinematography. His diverse body of work includes narrative and documentary films, commercials, and music videos, earning recognition at film festivals like Palm Springs Shortfest, Big Sky, and Reelworld. His awards include winning Best of Showcase at the WIFT 2022 Showcase and nominations at the Santa Fe Film Festival and Yorkton Film Festival.
Ben has worked with high-profile commercial clients such as Lexus India, Reebok Canada, and L'Oreal Paris. His cinematography is characterized by low-key lighting and an intimate visual style, aiming to create a deep emotional connection between the audience and the screen.
In our Short Film Lab, Ben will lead workshops on Image and Sound, as well as Sound Design and Color Grading. Participants will learn from his extensive experience and distinctive approach to storytelling, gaining valuable insights into creating visually compelling and emotionally engaging films.
