How are you helping Palestinians?

My dear friend,

This Ramadan has been particularly heavy as we witness the suffering of our beloved brothers and sisters in Palestine. We feel compelled to do something – anything -- to help alleviate their pain. Many of us are giving in charity to provide food, shelter and medical assistance. This is much needed, and we should keep doing that.

But what if I told you that there’s another powerful avenue through which we can help Palestinians, by reshaping the narrative that is told about them in the West? The portrayal of Palestinians in the public imagination has fostered policies that allow for a genocide to play out before our eyes.

Imagine the impact we can make by challenging and transforming the narratives that have allowed decades of injustice to persist unchecked. By shedding light on the realities faced by Palestinians, humanizing their experiences, offering nuanced perspectives and countering prevalent misconceptions, we can foster empathy and understanding and work towards an end to the oppression and suffering of Palestinians.

Recently, we took a significant step forward with the acquisition of a dedicated space for Muslim Media Hub. We’re busy setting it up for use. We’re hiring staff, purchasing equipment, and developing new and compelling multimedia programming.

Your support this Ramadan holds immense power in propelling our endeavors forward. With your help, we can expedite the establishment of Muslim Media Hub and work strategically to reshape narratives and share the beauty of Islam and the diversity of Muslims with the world.

Muslim Media Hub is zakah-eligible under the category of fee sabeel Allah. Your contributions are also tax-deductible. Thank you for your support, and may Allah (swt) envelop you in His Love and Mercy this Ramadan and always.

Sincerely,

Safiyyah Ally
